Student Activities
Throughout the year, Lord Kelvin Elementary School students have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of learning opportunities- both in their classroom and as an entire school community. Each class teacher will share information about the learning happening in the classroom with their families. You can also follow this link to learn more about the British Columbia curriculum:
Lord Kelvin Elementary puts an emphasis on engaging in school wide learning consistently throughout the year. This learning unites all our students, staff and families. Some examples are, Terry Fox Run, Orange Shirt Day, Remembrance Day Assembly, Multicultural week, Kelvin Gift Company, Pride Month, Literacy Leaders and learning conferences.
Leadership is an important part of learning at Lord Kelvin Elementary and students are provided with many opportunities to engage in leadership. Some examples are, morning announcements, giving the morning land acknowledgment, lunch monitors, library monitors, literacy leaders and more.
After-school activities
We are proud to have strong connections with many community partners and to be able to provide a wide array of after-school programs. Community Schools offers a variety of programs after school each learning period, for different aged students. These programs are a meaningful opportunity for students at Lord Kelvin to connect with their peers, and to participate in special activities.
Our Community Schools Coordinator provides subsides for programs and activities to ensure that all children can participate.
