Chromebooks for Student Learning

One of the new tools we have for learning this year is class sets of Chromebooks. A Chromebook is a small computer that connects to wifi. The computer has no storage memory and only uses web-based applications. Students have their own accounts that allow them to store their work on a central computer. These have been powerful for learning in all areas of the curriculum such as math, coding (which is a fancy name for computer programming), social studies and science. Students can use Chromebooks in their classroom right on their desks and can move them around the room because there are no cables required. The batteries are recharged when the Chromebooks are stored in a special cart. Chromebooks expand learning and teaching to new levels.
